“ Buds and Blossoms “ our primary inter school culturals was held on 23rd and 24th of August 2017. Students from various schools participated. Fancy dress competitions, skits, recitation competition, word hunt, clay modeling, quiz etc were held. A healthy competitive spirit was encouraged. Don Bosco school of Excellence and Sacred Heart (Church Park) were adjudged the best schools and awarded the trophies. The students of primary class use this cultural competition as a great opportunity of learning. It also creates a spirit of team work.
Our school assemblies are infused with Good thoughts, meaningful and value based skits, songs etc. Great care is taken to help students grow as disciplined children and worthy citizens of the nation. The multi talents of the students are drawn out by giving them various opportunities.
The management and teachers of Rosary are aware of the need for change and challenges faced by children and parents of today. Worshops and seminars are held every year for teachers and parents. Fr. The Inter house culturals for the year 2017 “ROZARC” was held in the month of August. Mr. Vijay Yesudass and Mr. Yogi were the chief guest of the occasion. Christmas celebration for the academic year 2016 -17 was celebrated on 19/12/2016 at our school auditorium by the students of Std. VIII. Our Principal Rev. Sr. Mary Zacharia presided over the gathering. The theme chosen for this year’s celebration was “Jesus a priceless gift to humanity”.
The highlight of the programme was a skit by the students ‘Amy’s unique Christmas gift’. Through the play the children were reminded of the need of the hour. It also enabled them to understand that how they should rise up with a helping hand to those who are in need of their aid.
English literary fest was conducted in Rosary Matriculation Hr. Sec. School for classes VI, VII and VIII. The main purpose of this fest was to inculcate the habit of reading and to improve their language skills. During the assembly students showcast their talents which included dramatization of Shakespeare’s play, recitation and story telling. This was followed by singing songs based on various grammar topics. Various competitions were conducted for all the classes. Handwriting competition was compulsory for classes VI, VII and VIII. Recitation and storytelling and cross word puzzled competitions were held class wise. The students were given a chance to perform on the stage.
The feast of our Foundress Mother Mary of the Passion was celebrated with a special assembly by Std VI with the theme ‘A Women of Vision’. The Science department of Rosary Mat. Hr. Sec. School celebrated the birthday of our former President Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam on 15th October 2016.
The day started off with a special morning assembly. Students of class VII enacted a few incidents from Dr. Kalam’s life, followed by speeches and poetry recitataion on Dr. Kalam’s achievements and merits. After the assembly, competitions were conducted to commemorate Dr. Kalam’s birthday. Class VI and VII had fancy dressed up as scientists. Class VI and VII had a fancy dress competition resembling scientists. Class IX and XI had an elocution competition on the topic “Let your dreams take wings”. “Be remembered, Be unique, Be great” was the topic for essay writing competition. Students of Std. XI were enrolled in NSS program at the beginning of the year. 25 girls were enrolled. Ms. Hepsy Kala, who is in charge of NSS, explained the girls about the different duties under this service scheme which included activities such as volunteers for Cycle Stand Duty, Traffic Duty and Assembly Duty. The students were given option of selecting the activity in which they were interested in and expected to dedicate themselves in their duty.
